I am astonished.
I had given up on this camera, which I purchased a few months back from centre.net.au. Not because of the camera, but because of the software, which was impossible to use. Until I tried it with FireWire. The difference between USB and FireWire on this particular camera is the difference between something useful and something completely useless.
So anyone out there with this camera (or the SD9, which I assume has the same USB-1 system), forget the USB and use FireWire. In the time it has taken me to write this, it has downloaded all my images (78 of them at highest res)… via USB I’d not even have got the dialog box up yet. Amazing!!
