In today’s Australian, Archbishop Pell argues that the violent response from some radical Muslims proves the Pope was right in the first place.
And this is the sad reality of today’s situation: some Christian somewhere makes the point that the Koran or Islam (or whatever) implicitly or otherwise advocates violence, and in response some Muslims in some corner of the world predicably protest… with violence.
After the Pope’s recent comments about Islam is the report of a nun murdered in Somalia, and the question of whether this was a retaliatory strike or not.
Alas, the more the “Christian West” makes a point about the violence of Islam, and the more Islam (someone, somewhere) responds in kind, the more the point is well made. That’s very sad.
And is it just me, or does the immense silence of Islamic leadership not say something deafening?
