Fellow Diggers. The mavericks, the legends, indeed the Jedi of our venerable art will live on, even if their Hall of Fame — the Top Users List — is no more. We can still admire them, love them, aspire to be like them, wonder at their immense productivity… even if we’re not too sure exactly who they are any more.
Alas, it is now a little more difficult to esteem them as we ought… in ascendant glory, on their lofty pedestal of glory and honour… now that that pedestal has had its legs amputated, and these demigods have been banished to the nether regions and the relative obscurity of us mere mortals.
No. No. This will not do. Our beloved Top Diggers deserve better than this. It is an act of desecration and base disrespect to cast them down among us plebs. We must remember them…
AND SO WE WILL!
Friends, rescued from the imminent forgetfulness of the Google Cache before it was too late, in just the nick of time, I offer you:
The Very Last Digg Top User List Ever Published
It is the very least we can do to honour these Great Diggers with this humble tribute. Surely this is not enough, but I offer it in gratitude and sincere respect to the great shovelers who have gone before us.
We are still watching you. We are still following eagerly behind your lead. We still need you. Digg on!
