The day Daddy came home from the war…

Inspired by Meg, I have decided to share a video with you all that I have been showing everywhere else, not least including it as a sermon illustration at church a couple weeks ago.
It is just amazing how much emotion can be packed into a simple video, sometimes, and I think there is an entire [...]

If you don’t have passion and purpose, greater productivity won’t help you!

If what you do with the best hours of your day is not also the thing you’re passionate about, stop right now!
Stop right now and confront the cold hard facts for what they are: no amount of effectiveness training, time management skills, productivity tips and tricks or goal setting know-how will replace the critical [...]

Digg ignores obscenity and fails in its duty-of-care to teens and young adults

Muhammad Saleem picks up on a post by Rathnavibushana, lamenting the moral wasteland that Digg can sometimes be. Do take the time to read both those posts… they’re worth it.
Sadly, I think the phenomenon of blatant and unashamed vulgarity, racism, mysogyny and xenophobia on Digg is in fact a fairly accurate mirror of the web [...]

My mob making merry

Karen and I and the rugrats were in Daylesford a couple of weekends ago for my brother’s wedding. He and Sharni were married on a train station platform. Yes, really!
It was very impressive. What can I say… they’re both theatre/entertainment folk. They really know how to put on a show, and it was wonderful.
It’s not [...]

My dog ate my glasses.

She did. I left them on my bed and she ate them. The lenses are no longer connected to the frame and they’ve got big teeth marks in them. The frame has bits bitten off the ends of the arms and is nothing like the shape it should be.
Anyone want to buy a one-year-old Cavalier [...]

Picasa Webalbums

Got into the closed beta for Picasa Webalbums, which took all of a day! It gives you a different version of Picasa and 250Mb of online space, which is paltry, compared to what Google give you with Gmail. But that’s OK… they’re competing with Flickr, and I get the comparison.
So I’m testing, and below is [...]

Pat’s photo album is online.

Karen’s mum Pat passed away in late February. I have been experimenting with Flickr and now Wordpress integration. I like what I see with the Silar Partners Photoalbum Plugin by Joe Tan. So this is partly a test of that and also to let you know that photos that were included in the DVD presentation [...]

Ryan Malcolm Cameron

Our bouncing baby boy was born this morning at 9:45am! Weighing 7lb 15oz by caesarian section at the Angliss hospital in Upper Ferntree Gully. Mum and baby are doing great!
I’m back at home now juggling the new thing for me: playing mum and getting Ali off to school and the other two to preschool, etc. [...]

Baby #4 due in 2 days!!

Well as far as Karen is concerned it has been the LONGEST ever pregnancy. At the moment I’m sleeping in the back room (my office) because she is so restless and uncomfortable at night that aparently I get disturbed in my sleep almost constantly. It explains how crappy I’ve felt waking up!
It’s a scheduled caesar [...]

Homeward bound…

Well friends, it’s been a long time between posts. And now all of a sudden, Alexandra and I will be on a plane tomorrow, headed for home! Time has indeed flown by.
We’ve had an amazing time here. I ended up preaching three times in two different churches. New Life in Suva and then last Sunday [...]
